I build things to understand them.
I'm Dimick — a systems-minded builder with one foot in infrastructure and the other in development. My homelab is where I learn: it's where I've built real networks, broken things on purpose, and figured out how to put them back together better.
By day I manage IT and security for a government contractor — owning the network, maintaining compliance, and automating everything I can. By night I'm building a multiplayer game in Go, expanding my homelab, and chasing whatever problem I haven't solved yet.
I'm drawn to work that sits at the intersection of systems and creativity — game tooling, platform engineering, or anywhere that rewards both technical depth and original thinking. I care less about job titles and more about whether I'll still be learning something new a year from now.
This site is self-hosted from my homelab. That felt like the right place to start.
